19th 2008 - "Fly my pretty" |
| |
Whilst my allotment has quite a high species
count on a daily basis I dont get that many different species coming
in. Some days it feels like I could identify each individual bird as
I have become so familiar with them and their little characteristics.
It can therefore be difficult to keep coming up with photographs that
keep me inspired and are different. To this end I often set myself challenges.
Today because the light was so good I wanted to capture a Nuthatch in
flight. So armed with a shutter speed of 1/3200 I was hopeful.... |

The Nuthatches came in often but sadly
did not want to play with me and I just wasnt getting a result. They
either flew away from me or towards me but never to the side which is
what I really wanted. The shot was never forthcoming but luckily the
Bluetits were more obliging so all was not lost. |

I also quite liked this little shot for
its firey background that compliments the blue very well. |

The Dunnocks seem to be getting
bolder by the day. I have three birds around and they came very close.

My coal tits were busy collecting
and stashing sunflower hearts, their favourite food. |

OK so where shall I hide it? Oh this looks
like a good place. |
