2nd 2008 "Snow" |

At last after a couple of weeks of being
promised snow we finally got some. Overnight a rather disappointing
half inch fell but not to be outdone and seeing the dreaded sun that
would quickly melt it I made haste to my allotment. As it was so cold
I expected there to be alot of birds wanting a free feed. It would seem
that Iwas to be disappointed. Birds are such a fickle lot! |

The sun was constantly in and out which
made getting the exposures right very difficult. I was disappointed
with my results but at least I managed to get some birds in the snow. |

The best of the light was towards the back
of the allotment. I loved the lighting on this female Blackbird and
was even more delighted when a Mistlethrush came just within range.
I hear the rattle of these birds alot but usually they stay to the very
tops of the highest trees. |

Would have loved a nice shot of a robin
in the snow but sadly it was not to be. Maybe we will get some more
snow this winter but somehow I doubt it as it is far too mild so I guess
I will just have to try again next year. |
