In recent visits I have waited
in vain for large skeins of whoopers to return enmasse from their
grazing. Over a hundred whooper swans all flying together makes
for a truely spectacular sight and I wanted to capture it once again.
Two thirty in the afternoon they came. Skein upon skein as if there
was no end skimming over the trees and descending onto the mere
like paratroopers dropping into enemy territory. Even though the
angle at which they came didnt make for the kind of photographs
I wanted it was still a most thrilling sight. |
