"On the look out"

Still nothing to report on the Black swan front and all is v ery quiet on the nest. The male was sitting today whilst the female took a bath.

Out on the lake there were alot of Moorhens around. Found three well grown juveniles sat together on a sunken branch. Sadly as I approached alittle nearer they swam away but one brave bird remained.
I love to photograph the adults too amongst the lillypads. I like how their red beaks are complimented by the greens and yellows.

The numbers of Grey herons moving in is also on the increase. Grey herons are always bad news for young cygnets so whilst it is good to see them I dont want them lingering on the swan pond should any cygnets appear. For now they seem to be keeping their distance.
