Jills

Sometimes when the weather
is so bad doorstep birding is your only resort. So take one friends
garden, an endless supply of coffee and an open patio window and see
what turns up. Blackbirds are common as well as an elusive pair of Song
thrush nesting in a nearby ivy covered tree. |

There are a good number of House
sparrows visiting the garden. |
| |
|
| |
and hungry starlings are never
far away |
| |
|
|
Good numbers of finches are
around too. Chaffinches, Greenfinches and Goldfinch. This shot was the
only one I got of the bird out in the open and by this time the light
was so bad my shutter speed was almost non existant. |

We also got a very nice surprise
from quite a rare visitor. A male and female Bullfinch. |

and we were delighted with the
antics of a pair of Long tailed tits nesting nearby. |

and finally another creature
that likes watching the birds....Daisy! |
