There are quite alot of Shelduck ducklings around. Many out on the mere and in the park. Had to wait a while though before any came near enough to do them justice. The waters today were dark and murky and not very appealing so I wanted them fairly close.
     

     


Most ducklings that are not Mallards are raised in the nursery but today I found a pair of Pochard ducklings on one of the smaller back ponds.
 
 
 
 
 
Also noticed a pair of Lesser white fronted Geese goslings. Geese seem to have less of a success rate breeding than the ducks. Maybe their nests are harder to find in places and predation is higher.
and as well as the birds some of the plants provided opportunities for some interestng compositions too. Never neglect the bigger picture I say!
