The long range forecast is
very good so decided to just get out in the countryside and see what
was happening. The fields and hedgerows look so fresh and green and
there is bird song everywhere. My first port of call where some fields
behind Martinmere. Here warblers were plentiful. Willow, Sedge warbler
and Whitethroat were calling everywhere. Reed buntings and Tree sparrows
were flying around kamikaze style and a lone Corn bunting was sat ontop
of a tree. |

Was so chilled out I even allowed
my photo to be taken! |

Pleny of Mallards around in
the fields. |

Everywhere the rape flowers
blaze out, buttercup yellow with a pungant spicy scent that fills the
air. It makes a wonderful back drop for many birds. A male Reed bunting
was calling prominently from one of the tallest plants. A very small
bird in a very large field. |

Red legged Partride
and Pheasants could be heard calling but could rarely be seen. Managed
to capture just one female Pheasant as she flew across. |

and then there is always the
shot that got away. A female Sparrowhawk burst fromt he rape and flew
across and I missed it!! Still if wildlife photography was easy where
would the fun be in that? |

Later on as it was getting
dark we were lucky enough to get brief glimpses of a Barn owl hunting
over the river bank. |
