"Its
all in the colours" |

Beautiful light today and it
is such a long time since I last visited the feeding station at Mere
Sands. Unfortunatly the feeders havent been kept as well as last year
but there were still quite a few birds around. |

The background colours at Mere
sands are lovely and the purple/blue of the sky made a very complimentary
backdrop for this Nuthatch which was the first bird I saw there.

Tree sparrows are
a huge favourite of mine and once again those background colours are
perfect.

Goldfinches are usually very
wary birds but this one must have been very hungry. He spent a good
fifteen minutes feeding very close to me and despite other people walking
by he never flew away.

Also got my first view of Siskins
of the winter. There were three birds in total though high views were
all we could manage. |

|
Nothing much of interest on
the water. A pair of Little Grebe fished nearby but the light was too
poor to use. Small numbers of Teal and Wigeon fed out on the open water
where the better light managed to reach. |
