Late November and the beach at Hoylake is full of thousands
of knot all busily feeding on the incoming tide. Quietly on swift
wings from over the sea a bird is approaching. Too small for the human
eye but picked up with lightning speed by the alert knot ever on a
vigil. A passing Peregrine falcon, not really in hunting mode flashes
by but not before all birds take to the skies. Twisting and turning
in unison there can be no finer spectacle than Knots in flight.
