Head on photographs can be notoriously difficult to get right and black coloured birds almost impossible as your camera struggles to lock onto any kind of detail. Whilst photographing rooks in Southern Ireland this curious little guy flew towards me fast and low and I was delighted with the result. Due to the length of composition and small area of detail I felt only a large image could do him any justice!
