Martinmere November 2008 - It is the end of a beautiful sunny winters day. The sun sinks slowly down the horizon and the sky becomes a myriad of colours from pink through blue and purple. Birds return to the mere to roost, seeking the protection of the water from predators. There is an excitement in the air as several flocks of Greylag geese descend, the winter colours of the sky blending with their subtle plumage.
