Martinmere December 2008 - Pochards for me at Martinmere
are one of the hardest birds to capture in flight. They do not take
to the air all that readily and when they do they are like missiles
streaking unwaveringly ahead on strong wings. Also you need just the
right light to show up their distinctive colouring and lately that
has been in short supply. This day I tracked them constantly across
and round the mere. The second they veared round into the cornor of
perfect light I fired, gotcha!
