"Spirit of the Wigeon"

January 24th 2008 Martinmere - Wigeon are spooked up and collect into large flocks at the back of the mere where they fly round in frenzied circles before settling back down. I feel that this photo gives a feel that the birds have flown on by and left an inprint of their spirit behind like a memory of winter when the birds have long since flown back to breeding grounds.
