Martinmere September 2009 - Here we have Canada geese bred with Greylag geese to produce the Canalag. Differences do vary but the black and white markings on the head often dominate. Here you can see both have the pink legs of the Greylag goose and the white markings on the wings and across the back in the front bird. The front bird also has a pale bill. I dont think I have ever caught these birds in flight before. They were in a small family group with three other Greylag geese.
