Martinmere October 20th 2010- Over the last few days Whooper swans have steadily been returning to Martinmere with a count of over 400 by the end of the week. As seen in this photograph there also seems to be a good number of juveniles with them which is good news after their return to Iceland to breed was put under threat by the erupting volcano back in April. These are the first shots I have this season of the returning birds.
