During the winter months the Bean Goose is a
rare and localised visitor. It can mainly be found in East Anglia and
S.W. Scotland on river valleys and waterside pastures. Its main breeding
grounds can be found in northern Europe and Asia. There are two races,
considered by some to be full species. The larger fabalis, or Taiga
Bean Goose and rossicus, Tundra Bean Goose, which breeds further north.
It is a fairly large goose, 70 - 90 cms in height. |
