The Blue winged Goose is an endemic
species of the highlands of Ethiopia, where it is common and widespread.
This is quite a shy, small, neat looking goose that spends most of its
time onland grazing. It occurs anywhere that there is abundant grassland
but mainly on marshes, bog pools, swamps and streams. |

As with most geese the sexes are alike.
This duck is increasingly threatened in the wild. This is due to the
encroachment of urban development and the loss of suitable habitat. |
