Chiloe wigeon

This very vocal bird has a natural range in southern South America and the Falkland Islands. It is mainly found in lakes, marshes and lagoons where they feed on aquatic invertebrates. The sexes are alike. Length 50cms.
 
 
 
One of the ornemental species that have ben bred is the Blonde Chiloe wigeon. This can be found in some private wildfowl collections.
