Domesticated from the Swan Goose in Central
Siberia over 2,000 years ago, the Chinese Goose is the smallest of all
domestic geese. It can be found in 2 forms, the bright and the white.
Its main diet consists of grass and weeds and as a result it is often
used for weeding purposes. Its aggressive nature and loud vocals also
makes it an excellent "guard dog" The females are slightly
smaller with a less prominent knob on the bill. It is considered one
of the best egg laying geese producing 40-100eggs a year. |
