Pyrrhocorax pyrrhocorax

With its bright red legs and red bill this bird is unlike any other member of the crow family. A rare localised bird it is confined to the western coastline of Scotland, Wales and Ireland. A resident bird it is found in larger flocks in the autumn and winter. It can be found anywhere there are rocky coasts with short grassland where it nests in sea-caves, cliff crevices or disused farm buildings. Its diet consists of insects and larvae. Length 39-40cm.
