A resident gull also known as the Mew gull
in the US, this is a gull that is found mostly on the coast. Despite
its name this is not a common species in many areas. A very dainty gull
identified by its green legs and yellow legs. Increasingly seen in towns
in the winter, as well as farm fields and estuaries. Breeds on the side
of lakes, bogs, moors and on cliff faces. Feeds on a diet of worms,
insects, fish, carrion and scraps. This bird can also be found in North
America and Asia. |
