Ferruginous duck - psilos bird photography

Increasingly found in the UK this is a species that originates in continental Europe. Related to the Pochard, with which it is also known to hybridise, this is an expert diving duck. It can also swim underwater to catch small fish, worms and insects. This bird is most active in the early morning and towards the late afternoon, spending most of the daylight hours asleep.
