Greenland White fronted goose

(Anser albifrons flavirostris)

One of four subspecies of White fronted goose. Their breeding grounds can be found on Western Greenland, with their wintering grounds being found in Ireland and north and west Scotland. There has been much controversy on the Island of Islay where their winter roost is threatened by plans to dig the peat. The sexes are alike.
