Relatively common in the north west
these little birds can be quite challenging to photograph as they are
constantly on the move. A resident bird its population has increased
dramatically as a result of milder winters. Twelve months ago I would
have waited at feeders for them to come close in but now I like to photograph
my birds in their more natural environment. |

Often seen in large flocks in the winter
months Long tailed tits will readily come onto bird feeders. Timid they
might look but they certainly are not. I have approached these birds
to within 6 foot of a feeder before they fly away and that is braver
than any other bird. |
