Also known as the Western or Great Basin Canada goose. One of the largest of all the Canada goose subspecies weighing in at around 4.5kgs. Idenified best by their plump bodies and disproportionately long neck. They also have a shortish bill and legs. Their breeding grounds can be found on the great plains. Interbreeding with the smaller northern race is known to occur.
