Also known as the White Wagtail this is
a very common resident bird found mainly in our urban areas and parks.
Can also be found next to reservoirs and streams. A small scurrying
bird, with a frantically wagging tail usually seen on grass or often
in carparks. They feed on a diet of insects. They can often be found
nesting in hedgerows or anywhere there is a concealed space around buildings. |

The male bird can be recognised from his
very black back (above) whereas the back of the female is much greyer
