Pink eared duck - psilos bird photography

This perculiar looking duck from Australia looks like it should be related to the Shoveler but which is actually thought to be more closely related to the Shelduck. It is also the only member of the genus Malacorhynchus. It has a large spatulate bill but is smaller than the Shoveler at just 38-40cms. The sexes are similar though juveniles are duller.
