Reed Warbler

(Acrocephalus scirpaceus)

This is a summer breeding bird that spends the winter months in South Africa. The largest populations can be found in East Anglia and near the south coast but can turn up anywhere on passage. Their breeding habitat can be found amongst reedbeds in lowland areas and amongst tall vegetation in drier places such as willowherb and arable crops. Its diet consists of insects and berries in autumn. It can be seen mid April to early October.
