Ringed Teal

(Callonetta leucophrys)

A very small duck found extensively in South America in tropical, swampy forests and marshy clearings in well-wooded lowlands. It is a perching duck from the wood duck family and feeds on a diet predominantly of water plants and seeds, with some insects. It is a very popular duck for ornamental collections.
