Psilos Bird Photography

A large stocky olive green pipit that is resident to coastal areas in the UK. Their preferred breeding habitat is rocky beaches and harbour walls. In winter they can be found in similar habitats and also on some inland reservoirs. Adults are largely resident but the youngsters will roam further once they are independant. Winter populations are boosted by birds from Norway. Their diet includes insects, beetles, small fish, small shellfish and seeds.
