Ross's Goose

(Chen rossii)

Quite a small. almost Mallard sized goose that can be found on the Arctic tundra in the breeding season and further south into North America/California on salt or fresh marshes in the winter. It is quite a rare bird. It nests in small colonies laying 4 or 5 creamy-white eggs in a down-lined grass nest placed on a small island in a lake or river.
